What’s Your Purpose ?

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.                               Proverbs 19:21  NIV

Do you ever feel like some part of your life is unraveling   Or, you are losing control of matters you once had in your firmly in your command?  Could it actually be a sign that your life is healing and your prayers are being answered, in GOD’S terms?  Yet, in our humanity, our first instinct is to securely cling to whatever seems to be slipping-away from our constrictor death-grip of various life circumstances and try to change or fix things.

Could it be that you have, finally learned to “Let Go … and Let God?”

(he has been patiently waiting for you to relinquish your controlling death-grip on things and drop those reins so he can take charge the way he’s Always wanted.  However, your Lord and Father is a just, and true gentleman – he allows you to ‘choose!’)

When you pray, STOP for a moment and review what you’ve prayed for.  Did you pray for a better relationship?  Perhaps the present one is ending because you decided it has served its’ purpose.   Did you ask for a different job?  Well, might it be that in giving-up your present job, a new opportunity is cultivating a solid stepping-stone leading to a new door p you can confidently walk through to your next career?  Have you ended-up with teenagers that run you over?  Should you to talk with your eternal Father to get his wise guidance?

Dynamic, fruitful, change can be threatening and intimidating. That’s why regular constant prayer is essential, as it brings you moment-by-moment peace and direction so you can think clearly and become bolder as you are focusing on building a deeper, much more intimate relationship with your everlasting Father God. 

Instead of being paralyzed by fear or misguided beliefs that you are losing charge, might it be wiser to use that fear to become empowered and take inspired action to reinforce your envisioned outcome?

“My Father God, thank you for giving me the steadfast resolve and the bold strength to leave conditions which are completed or which no longer serve your Purpose for my highest good.”  Even when it has taken me way too long to ‘Let Go’ so I can gain your power and loving guidance ~ you still held-out your embracing arms to catch me when, at long last, I fell into your sweet and humble Graces. 

“Thank you for helping me to focus upon this present and decisive moment leading me to feel empowered to take action from a place of love having a healthy mindset grounded in spiritual confidence.  “Thank you for quietly taking charge ~ lovingly leading me forward to live a more contented and Purposeful Life!”  ‘Thank you for YOUR Perfect Plans offering a “Hope” and a “Prosperous Future.”

“WHO SAID THAT?”

“I Break All Curses By Satan’s Agents Spoken Against  My Life In The Name Of Jesus.”                     Psalm 10:7

“I don’t think he really Loves me”  …,  “there’s nothing ‘special’ about me” …,  “nobody will ever want me”…, “I could Never achieve that” …,  “I’m not Smart-Enough” …,  “I’m not worthy!!”

Condemnation is from the enemy.  Whereas, Conviction is ‘gift’ from the Holy Spirit.  The enemy seeks a crevice to entertain your mind with  hurtful, hateful, angry thoughts. Conversely, Jesus Christ wants you to reign in his footsteps and remain confident as his chosen child!  He wants you/me to know he sees us as “the ‘apple of his eye”,

Our enemy will cause you to doubt; he will devise evil schemes and plant negative, ugly thoughts to twist your mind.    Will you fall prey to his trickery?

Consider the self-doubt Satan wants to hedge into your mind.  “What has happened to me, you ask yourself?!”   “Was that me?”  “Who Said That?”

Why have the lies of Satan been able to take-up residence in people’s intellect and affect their lives?  Undoubtedly, the fallen angel has been working in their lives for months, maybe years.

Just as a mouse squeezes through any minuscule crack, the devil seeks any weakness in you he can find.  Then, bam … he’s in!  Our adversary’s deceptions sow self-pity that crushes the spirit and develops into bitterness of heart.  That IS his offensive job!  You have heard it said, “Satan IS the Father of lies.”  How true!

8 “Be Alert and of Sober Mind. Your Enemy the Devil Prowls Around like a Roaring Lion Looking For Someone to Devour.  9 Resist Him, Standing Firm in the Faith,  Because you Know That The Family of Believers Throughout the World are Undergoing the Same Kind of Sufferings.” I Peter 5:8

You mean I am supposed to be grateful and think “conviction” is really a ‘gift?”  Well ~ you tell me; Do you REALLY Believe God’s promises are for you?   Do you want Freedom and the calmness found in rational, consistent, meditations?  You CAN Control your thoughts.  When you are overwhelmed and feel like you are in a battle with a negative thought, try to replace that ‘junk’ with the Power given to us in his
Promises/Scriptures.  (thus, the importance of learning and memorizing Scripture.)     Then, you will clearly hear:  “WHO SAID THAT!”

God doesn’t want us to be an emotional frazzled mess.  He wants us to know WHO we are in him and walk in his comfort reconciled to receive his crowning glory and surrounded by his prosperous favor.

“We are so lucky.”   “Just think about it.”    “WE ARE HIS CHOSEN … WOW!!”                  Now, that makes this girl feel pretty darn ‘Special!’  HE ACTUALLY LOVES ME!  HE LOVES YOU TOO!

(you know something, this ‘platform’, (my WordPress Blog) is Healing me from the inside … out!)  and I sure hope I am able to reach and touch the Hearts of my readers!  I have always given God the glory for anything I manage to compose.  (I KNOW he gives me the words to write, it isn’t just me!) No way!

~ I AM JUST THE VESSEL ~ MOLDED BY THE POTTER’S HANDS) ~

My Prayer:  Father God, guide us through the tangled maze our enemy creates for our confusion.  Blot out the enemy’s schemes and lead us to daily gain clarity to see the wisdom and truth in your words.  We Pray for your loving discipline to keep us from straying from your path as we know “you  have prepared ye the way” for each one of your sheep.  We ask for divine focus as we study your word.  Walk with us through the pages of your Holy Bible so we may really digest Scriptures.  Grant us the gift to “hide your word in our Heart.”

UNPLANNED

“It Shall Come to Pass That MY Burden Will Be Taken Off My Shoulders and The Yoke Will Be Destroyed Because of My Anointing Growth.”   Isaiah 10:27

Several years ago, I found myself becoming another statistic.  The ‘surreal world’ I  beckoned and thought I was building, came crashing down and faded into the hazy, black abyss forming a lengthy void in my life.

Fortunately, I had taken the initiative to speak with my Pastor and gotten an invaluable referral to a non-denominational group for people who found themselves in those beginning f-u-n days of separation or the recently divorced.

For sure, this non-denominational referral was part of God’s plan as he was positioning the ‘broken-parts’ to be used as stepping-stones in his anointed, jewel-lined path he created just for me!  Actually, I was lucky, huh!!

Then, a close sister-in-Christ, told me about another non-denominational home for destitute, mistreated ladies.  How could I know God was assembling another building block for me?  This home was another answer to petition providing a strong foundation for me to keep growing in my new life of freedom.

There were about ten ladies attending this ‘home’.  Our six-hour daily schedule included a variety of classes to help us enrich, and empower ourselves.  One of the classes required reading and studying the book, The Purpose Driven Life.  I learned a Lot about myself in this tome and I had developed a thirsty heart to share that love and, hopefully, embolden and inspire another.

I had maintained a life of little socialization stemming from shame and unease in the public mainstream.  So, unfortunately, I had grown semi-comfortable just remaining in my uneasy shell.

“Many People Will Praise God Because You Obey The Good News … And Because You Freely Share With Them And With All Others.”          II Cor 9:12

Unplanned events would open my eyes and give me an opportunity to encourage another dejected, hurting soul to realize he Does have a ‘purpose’ in this life.

It was a very c-o-l-d night in January.  Fluffy great white flakes now blanketed our city, quieting everything to a whispered lullaby.   But the piercing cold didn’t stop  robust football fanatics from getting-out to enjoy the Super-Bowl.

My relentless friends insisted on going somewhere to watch this event on a big-screen T.V.   We chose a local pub as we knew of it’s family-friendly atmosphere.

The place was packed!  The only vacant chair was beside some burly-looking guy.  So, I zigzagged through the crowd to the seat.  I ordered a Sprite and some chips with salsa.   (that man had taken a brief ‘break’ to the Gents room).

As soon as he got back, he introduced himself as, Michel B.     Michael sighed with a dejected, nervous laugh.  Almost instantly, I could feel his downcast persona.  (there had been a time when I mirrored his vibe.)

Michael just started talking.  (I must have displayed one of those faces that says:  open-up to me ~ you’re ‘safe’ here).

Throughout our conversation, it was easy to surmise that Michael was a highly intelligent man.  He was questioning just ‘why’ he is here and even his worth!  Anyway, after a couple of hours of sharing our common points of view, and general values, I tried to assure Michael that he Does have a Purpose in this life!

The game was over … the Giants had won!  But, my attention had not been on the game ~ as this moment had taken precedence.

A couple of days passed, and I kept thinking about Michael’s questioning.  I decided to share the wisdom in Purpose Driven Life by giving him a copy.  Several days later, Michael called my non-denominational ‘home’ and let me know how much he had appreciated that I had taken an “unplanned” interest in his life.

WILLING VESSSEL

“All Things Come Together For Your Good To Achieve My Purpose.”  Jeremiah 28:40

At first, when I moved into my condo, I just didn’t feel things were the most ideal in the world.  Devotion to my eighteen-year marriage had just been shredded and ripped-apart, my business had been forfeited to another, my ability to continue my passionate foster parenting with precious children had been relinquished.  I even lost Heidi, my beloved doggie.

However, as God had planned the precise timing of things.   My replica of the prayer of Jabez, (I Chronicles 4:10) was quietly answered as God had already enlarged my territory.

Many future days were devoted establishing and nurturing a close friendship with an older lady, Doris, in this building.   Doris is 90.  She’s shared with me how she had learned to drive in a model “A.”   We laughed as she recalled how hard it was to steer as there wasn’t any power-steering in those days.  She said, “as she listened to her instructor, Dad, the car bumped along and jostled them about as they had to teach her to drive in cornfield away from any traffic.”

Her teaching experiences were gained in a one-room schoolhouse.  Boy,  she has had some wonderful, funny, days.  She told of one youngster who liked to ‘bully’ the other students.  Her wisdom taught her to simply ‘ignore’ the boy and she said, “he straightened right up!”

A few days ago, Doris came to see me.  While we were visiting, she took note of some things in my curio cabinet.  She spotted this Red Apple I have saved as a memento from my college days.  (ironically, Doris is also a former schoolteacher.)  (usually, the student is giving an apple to the teacher.)  But, in my case, it was being manifested as another ‘backwards’ event my ‘lefty’ world.

My Red Apple has a hand-written message from one of my professors.   Professor Williams came to know me well because my schedule landed me in several of his classes.  (because of my diligence in prior achievements, he most likely had greater expectations of me.)   His message on the apple says: “ I’m so glad you came back to graduate 1st in your Marketing class!”  “You have made this an exciting and challenging year for your fellow students as well as for the faculty.”  “ Most of all, I want to say ‘thanks’ for the Superior Work!”  (I was in my early thirties when I graduated college.)

So why on earth did I share this with you?  (well, since you asked🙂  It’s never too late to accomplish a dream or your goals.  The ONLY requirement is that you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!  NEVER QUIT!   If you give-up, or stop – who wins?   It sure isn’t going to be you!  On the flip-side, when you persevere, YOU can do anything.

POINT:  God can take ANY situation and turn it around for HIS Glory!  Your part is to be his ‘Willing Vessel.’  TRUST in him and know he has specific plans for you.  Even when you are in the muddy muck and mire and you can’t see a darn thing … HE CAN!

Multitudes can be impacted through your life IF you ‘choose’ to follow Him forever.

“Follow Me and I Will Make You Fishers of Men.”      Matthew 4:19

You CAN make a difference.

FREEDOM’S PRAYER

 Psalm 35 ~ The Lord the Avenger of His People

                                                  1 Plead my cause, O Lord, with those who strive with me;                                                     Fight against those who Fight against me.
2 Take hold of Shield and Buckler,   And stand up for my help.

On uncharted soil, we stood together, we fought, we battled against the well-armed British, and we won.  Our fierce determination gained our religious independence and the right to claim and pioneer an uncontrolled territory.

“Let their way be Slippery and Dark, And let the Angel of the Lord pursue them.  Psalm 35:6

Upon establishing our freedom and thus gaining liberty to create our new homeland, our founding father’s gathered in a small building named Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia, PA.

Some founding fathers present were U.S. Presidents George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison along with about, 90 other delegates.  Not only were many of the most prominent founders not conservative; they were also deeply divided among themselves.

The First Continental Congress, met briefly to sign our proclamation listing our rights and responsibilities in a document that was originally known as The Articles of Confederation; eventual ratified amendments superseded the Confederation and our law(s) of the land became known as The Constitution of The United States. 

Courageous defiance ultimately led our Continental Congress to convene in Philadelphia. And our first President, George Washington, offered 3-hours of prayer giving “Thanks” and asking for God’s continued direction and blessings in this newly established country and nation.

Did you know that George Washington chose to base his supreme words on Biblical principles found in Psalm 35?   (Psalm 35 is known as being one of the more popular Psalms because of its expressed faith and trust in our Lord.)

                       “I humbled myself with fasting; and my Prayer would return to my own Heart.”  Psalm 35:13

IF our unassuming President felt it necessary to get on bended-knee and give “Thanks” to our creator, for his Psalm 35 ‘hand of protection’ during this American Revolutionary War, do you think we also need to continue in this faith?  Don’t we still need God’s divine guiding wisdom over our nation?

During this volatile election season, coupled with the onslaught of terror throughout our nations, as well as national, state, and local social unrest, we have a plenitude of valid reasons to follow George Washington’s unpretentious, symbolic act of reverence!

27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
28 My tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And praise all the day long.

Dedicate Your Life

The disciple, Luke said:  “I Will Always Pray ~ I Don’t Ever give Up!”  Luke 18:1

Before my day begins, I choose to start each day on my knees in Prayer, so I’ll send that sentiment along to you too.  This sacred  habit saturates my soul and affords a  meaningful opportunity for gaining a true sense of calmness – and a ‘Peace’ found through Prayer.

Try to dedicate at least 1-hour to DAILY Prayer with your Heavenly Father.

HE is your provider!

All ‘worry’ will accomplish in our lives is more stomach problems, sleepless nights where we ‘wrangle’ (fight our emotions), and toss-and-turn, adding stress, gray-hair, and wrinkles.   Ultimately, all worry does is it give control of our life to the enemy/devil, (which is what he wants).

Please Meditate (chew-on) these Scriptures:

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”             John 10:10

“Take Captive EVERY Thought and Make It O b e d i e n t to Gods Word.”               II Corinthians 10:5

If  negative thoughts or images come  into your head, please know those thoughts were not planted in your Heart by our Wonderful Abba Daddy. He Loves you w- -a- y too much to put ‘hateful’, ‘hurtful’ ‘downer’, thoughts in your Mind! (THAT’S the work of the enemy! (he’s trying to get you to ‘think’ negative junk!)

REFUSE to take the bait!

(The enemy is just trying to find a ‘weak-spot’ in You, then he’ll go to work; and he will WORK on you until he’s succeeds, or fails.)

“Submit to God, RESIST the enemy and he WILL Flee.” James 4: 7 & 8

God’s word says in Isaiah 61:1 (Isaiah speaking: “The Lord has sent me to Speak Good News To The Poor.” “He has sent me to Bind-Up The Broken-Hearted, Proclaim Healing And Freedom For Captives, and To Proclaim That THIS Is The Year Of The Lord’s Favor.”

(The Apostle Paul, who started as one of Christianity’s most zealous enemies, was hand-picked by Jesus Christ to become the gospel’s most ardent messenger.):

“I CAN Do ALL Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.” Philippians 4:13
